- Pan-Pythium: root-rot fungal complex covering P. aphanidermatum, P. catenulatum, P. dissotocum, P. myriotylum, and P. ultimum. Moms in long-term, rootbound conditions are especially vulnerable, and Pythium spreads to clones through shared media, water, and transplant.
- Pan-Fusarium: vascular wilt and root rot complex covering F. oxysporum, F. solani, and 8+ related species. Persistent in soil and substrate — Fusarium can sit in a mom for cycles before showing symptoms, then move with every cutting you take.

HOW TO USE THE MOM PANEL TEST:
- Tag Your Plant: Use the included tag to match each mom to her sample envelope so results are traceable back to the exact plant.
- Collect a Sample: Use the enclosed envelope to collect 1-3 leaves and a 1-2 inch piece of root material from each mom you’re screening.
- Send for Analysis: Return the sample to our lab using the guidelines in your kit. Results are emailed typically within 1-5 business days of lab receipt.
Technical Details:
The Mom Panel runs three targets on each submitted sample. HLVd is detected via RT-qPCR targeting a conserved region of the HLVd genome for maximum accuracy across variants. Pan-Pythium and Pan-Fusarium are run as qPCR-based tests targeting the Pythium and Fusarium genera, respectively, to capture the broadest range of pathogenic species in each complex.
Note: Samples must be free of trichomes — samples from flowering-stage plants will not be accepted. Mother-room tissue (vegetative leaf and root material) is exactly what this panel is designed for.
